This was an early 1800's Federal Period house + modifications demolished by City of Huntsville "Min. Hous. Off." w/o permission of the Historic Commission. In circa 1974, H. Jones drove up to look at construction on ??? house (707) as this house came crashing down. A man with the city wrecking crew exclaimed "Boy, they don't build them that way any more!" (They had great difficulty in pushing it down). The framing was all heavy timbers, mortise and tenon joints. I questioned the superintendent about the Historic Commission review. He nor his bosses hadn't "ever heard fo the H. C. review requirement" even though their office was across the hall from the H. C. and two years after creation of the H. C. - H. Jones.
